It's time to look back at the second half of the week. Man, it was not a good week for a lot of our players, especially in the 2nd half of the week. Let's discuss. This will be shorter than normal, but we'll be back with a more fun, and longer version next Monday!
Note: Hot N' Cold is obviously a reference to the Katy Perry hit, but it has value to some of the week's big stories.
Dairy Queen Blizzard's Flavor: Sweet Victory Vanilla!
Dairy Queen Blizzard is back to the Weather Warrior victory. Only this time as a winner. DQB help off a close fight by SEMichigan_WX to win Week 1. The winner of this week gets 400 points, 2nd 350, 3rd 300, and downward until 40th or worse gets 1 pt.
DQB won Day 1, but had 3 more very strong picks in the first week, winning with Wilmington NC on Day 1, as well as several strong performances over the first week.
You Can't Outsmart The Srmarts!
Srmarts took his Fort Pierce steal from a single victory, to a 2-day winning streak. Richmond, VA was all the buzz for another steal victory. Richmond overpowered numerous busts and non-multiplier scores to get victory #2 of the young season.
This is his first back to back victory days in his career.
City of Brotherly Victory
Mount Holly locations and players have arrived on the spot quick this year. Friday gave us a location win that has surprisingly never been done: Philly. It was daneiel who stole the show over a handful of players with below 150 pt scores.
Daneiel was the first non-Mt. Holly CWA native to win this season, but kept the streak alive for relative locations.
Panama...Panama-oh-oh-oh-oh
The streak ended at 5, but Panama led to a Weather Warrior first. Congrats to Ronald Martinez on making two sets of history: The farthest west winner in game history, as well as the first International location not a Pacific Island to win a day.
This first however probably could have been done earlier, as Latin America scores had promise, but busted. Latin America picks have been hard to score, so this was a very tough victory by this rookie.
Playing Yakety Sax Leads to W's
For BlizzardJon, wins came fairly easy, especially in Alaska. Rekindling the Alaska love from last year, Jon uses Yakutat to win the day, and bring Alaska back to victory for the first time in the Spring. This score was the only other score outside of Days 1 & 2 to reach over 500 points.
Weekend League Update
Five teams won their first matches of the season. Most used either Central Plains or Oceanic regions, but we saw very strong battles. A very quick summary.
Bulldogs sweep the week 3-0 over the Hawks (includes numerous 0s)
Wolverines win their series 2-1 over the Dolphins
Dragons dominate the final 2 days, but sweep 3-0 in the Cobras
Knights easily controlled the Gators, who had 3 players not make more than 1 pick.
Lions win their series over the Tigers (oh my) 2-1
All teams have a bye week, because of situations involving inactive team players. There were a lot of zeroes on some teams, so we may have to re-draft certain teams. Keep posted for updates.

No extras or "isms" this week. The Last Word will discuss "Epitome of Brutality" instead.
The Last Word
The epitome of brutality happened a lot this week. Let's recap the brutality.
Many scores, especially in Latin America, were well below multiplier range. It would need a 2nd article to recap this.
People not checking the "Algorithm Schedule" to make sure a location is available on the map, especially in the event of making Weekend League picks their picks in the normal game. Check the "Master Location Doc" algorithm schedule to make it easier.
A handful of players did not meet points criteria in Week 1. Remember, you need 3 picks a week in order to earn points towards your points standings.
The Weekend League had a LOT of zeroes in the points departments. Teams need to be more connected with their players. Set up a twitter or discord chat, or message players on Weather Warrior's website (make your accounts public, as you may not be able to connect with players).
Kicking epidemic in the Twitter chat. Please avoid kicking at all costs. We may have to disband that chat if it gets worse.
