Most to prove this week: The Golden Bears Team (Abby Leonard and Ronald Martinez)

Ronald faces a tough week this week after just barely losing to Dairy Queen Blizzard in his opening playoff matches. He’s got Dry_7ine in the Round of 24, then could face either CHSStormTracker or Central_Oh_Wx in the Round of 16. Coupled with several high-risk picks this week, this is a boom or bust week for Ronald and could be an early indication of his success or lack thereof this season.

On the other side of the team, Abby faces a tough challenge in the bottom quarter of the Challenger bracket as well. Facing off against last season’s 2 seed in SEMichigan_Wx, with a matchup against professional EF Unknown or the ever confident JKP_Weather, this could be an interesting run for Abby. If she can get through this, she should be very confident. A 12th place finish in the first week is good, but a day 2 score of 28 in Charleston could be a sign. Picking frequently should help.

The Last Word

Recently, we began enforcing the conduct policies listed in the Season Four Document in our official chat spaces. We felt this was necessary to provide a bit more structure to our conversations, and keep the space open and welcoming to all. We understand that there are concerns that we are being too strict on our competitors, but we are attempting to be lenient on dishing out points and cards.

Also, we are letting our competitors pick their own teams this season for Weekend League. We felt this change was necessary to keep everyone who wanted to participate engaged, and allow them to step out of their comfort zone and work with someone new. If you do not have a team yet, but would like one, feel free to ask!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about anything, please do not hesitate to contact me, an administrator, or a Player Advisory Council member immediately. We are here to help you.

May the models be ever in your favor,
